Montecastillo
The 18-hole championship golf course is designed by Jack Nicklaus, who describes it as one of his best. It is a test of golf for the most accomplished players but is equally enjoyable to all golfers. With over 3000 hours of sunshine per year, the Hotel Montecastillo is becoming a favourite place to play golf. The course is situated in approx. 395 acres, with a typical Andalusian landscape for the golfer to enjoy a scenic round of golf. Following the first Volvo Masters in 1997 Montecastillo has invested over 1,200,000 Euros in a technical and aesthetic renovation plan. This has included the planting of 100 year old olive trees, the installation of a new drainage system, introducing Marmolada sand in the bunkers and new machinery for the maintenance of the golf course.
Sancti Petri Golf
This Ballesteros complex now offers 36 holes. The Sea-Pines course offers a front nine holes of pine-skirted fairways and a complete contrast for the second nine with spectacular views out across the Atlantic Ocean. The Centre course offers abundant vegetation with water hazards and bunkers, and is an excellent test.
Ballena Golf
Situated in Rota, north of Cadiz, sits this new and innovative golf resort. The Jose Maria Olazabal design is predominantly flat but with well positioned lakes, dunes and soft dells the course is a great test of character.
Duhesa de Montenmedio
Located in the heart of the countryside with 100 year old forest, Montenmedio is rated as one of the best layouts in Andalucia. The course prides itself on its tranquil setting with fantastic views of Cadiz sierra and the straits of Gibraltar. Montenmedio Golf Course is a treasure undiscovered.
Its 18 holes spread over the softly rolling Dehesa among centenary impressive trees.
Tees and greens layout, fitted to landscape and the perfect care of the green surface, make this course one of the best in Europe both in quality and landscape. Spanish professional Severiano Ballesteros declared so at Grand Final Oki-Telepizza Tour held in Spain.
San Andres Golf
This course located on the Cadiz-Malaga road very near Chiclana, is regarded as a fine test of golf by those who have graced the narrow, flat fairways, which wander through the private estate of San Andres. The par five second hole crosses a stream, is dogleg right and requires accuracy rather than long hitting.
There is little rough but many pines and olive trees which provide shade and natural hazard. The club has a nice club house with bar and restaurant service, an excellent driving range and the facility of renting clubs and carts.
